CARGILL, One of the largest private companies in the world, with a diverse portfolio ranging from agriculture and food to industrial and financial companies.
Cargill’s Global Edible Oil Solutions (GEOS) division fills bottles of olive, vegetable and other oils for delivery. Given the volume of the production line, the process needs to run smoothly every step of the way. Unfortunately, the line experienced micro-shutdowns, or production interruptions of less than a minute, at various points in the process, costing Cargill up to 40 hours per month of productivity.
During daily production meetings, one facility consistently tracked micro shutdowns as one of the main contributors to lost production. As a result, the site used PI Event Frames to get a more detailed view of those losses and move the team from a reactive culture to a proactive one. This talk will take you through the journey of implementing the solution, quantifying the data, findings, and value gained.
