What is IoT?
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical or virtual “things” incorporated with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity to allow objects to collect and exchange data. The analysis of the information generated by IoT is the basis for accurate and immediate decision making.
What is the difference between IoT and IIoT?
Industrial Internet of Things or IIoT is a subcategory of IoT that focuses its capabilities on the optimization of industrial processes, manufacturing or services. The equipment, devices, infrastructure or other assets are connected through a network. Critical information is monitored and managed with specialized software that facilitates immediate decision making and therefore process optimization.

In the IoT world, people and objects coexist and collaborate on a day-to-day basis without requiring a network for critical activities. On the other hand in IIoT, the integrity and security of the data as well as short response times are essential for its operation.
An important application at present are the radio frequency identification or RFID systems. In this, a set of labels are identified remotely by a reader linked to a computer, communication occurs through radio waves. Thus, it is possible to keep a record and manage your location in real time. Toll booths, access control, cattle identification and electronic cards are an example of the application of RFID.
Get the maximum benefit from IIoT technology, our methodology includes the design and implementation of:
- -Objectives and needs.
- -Indicators, notifications, actions.
- -Policy of information governance.
- -Mechanisms of communication.
- -Data infrastructure.
- -Schema of administration and backup of technical data.
- -Data transfer formats.
- -Schemas of security.
- -Sensors, device and equipment involved.
- -Tables and reports for users and decision makers.
- -Schemas of predictive analysis and machine learning.
In ATISoft® we offer our extensive experience in real-time data management, operational events and notifications / alerts in real time to support critical processes in a Real Time Data Infrastructure.
